Showcased in inspire&ignite
Elsie is a multi-talented young creative whose inspire&ignite project brought together her love of design, making, and storytelling through fashion. Already recognised for her photography with awards at the Dubbo Show, Elsie is equally at home painting, playing guitar, and sewing original garments and accessories.
For her inspire&ignite project, Elsie collaborated with local professional artist Jude Crawford to strengthen her fashion drawing skills and worked alongside model Olivia to bring her vision to the runway. Her collection featured diverse pieces, from whimsical sundresses to sophisticated evening wear, all designed and made by Elsie.
Presented at by Studio 138’s at the Western Plains Cultural Centre’s Black Box Theatre, the showcase transported audiences to the Amalfi Coast, with garments that moved from sunlit days to vibrant nights. The event highlighted Elsie’s creativity, craftsmanship, and ability to collaborate with others, with support from her mother Rebecca, who has been an integral part of her journey.
Through inspire&ignite, Elsie has taken an important step towards her dream of developing a sustainable creative practice, building confidence in presenting her work publicly, and connecting with peers and mentors who recognise her talent.
