On June 19, 2025, the Black Box Theatre at the Western Plains Cultural Centre came alive with creativity at the inspire&ignite Young Talent Showcase. The evening highlighted the extraordinary talents of local young artists who are developing their skills and sharing their voices through the program.
The spotlight of the evening was on Elsie, a multi-talented young creative who presented her debut fashion collection. Model Olivia brought Elsie’s diverse designs to the runway — from whimsical sundresses to after-dark style — revealing the depth and imagination of her creative vision. Elsie is not only a gifted designer, but also an emerging photographer and musician. With support from Studio 138 through inspire&ignite, she is beginning to explore how to take her work to the next stage.
Adding to the atmosphere, the audience enjoyed the smooth sounds of the Sim Jullivan Experience, a local award-winning jazz outfit that continues to impress. Saxophonist Jim Sullivan — who is also developing his own inspire&ignite project — took the opportunity to perform as part of the ensemble, building his skills through collaboration and live experience.
The evening was produced by Studio 138 as part of the UNBOXED Creative Sessions, made possible through the support of Dubbo Regional Council.
The showcase not only celebrated the achievements of young creatives like Elsie and Jim, but also offered a glimpse into the exciting potential of our region’s next generation of artists.
Thanks to local photographer, Jorja Fuller, for the photos.
